Four strategies for financial relief to help you stay in college

The coronavirus pandemic has forced many Alamo Colleges’ students to make tough decisions that have disrupted their academic progress. Some are choosing between continuing on their educational paths and meeting basic needs.

During the summer and fall semesters, the Alamo Colleges District is continuing its Keep Learning plan to keep students in college and on track toward their goals. The multi-tiered strategy relieves the financial burden of college expenses.

The Keep Learning plan encompasses four major initiatives:

AlamoBOOKS+

To eliminate the cost of books for eligible students and ensure they have all textbooks and instructional materials on the first day of class, students enrolled in Spring, Summer and Fall 2022 will receive free textbook rentals through AlamoBOOKS+. Once you register for classes, eligible students will receive an email from Barnes & Noble College prompting them to select their preferred delivery method for either hard copies or digital materials.

This plan allows eligible students who earned hours in Spring 2022 at any of the five colleges in the Alamo Colleges District, to get three to nine hours FREE credit hours in the Summer 2022 semester. The Expanded Summer Momentum Plan is a last-dollar scholarship that will cover tuition after all other financial aid resources have been awarded in most cases.
